Applying to the schedule

Information on application, selection, and participation

Stockholm Fashion Week is curated and operated by the Association of Swedish Fashion Brands, an industry association representing Swedish fashion brands across segments and markets.

As an association-led platform, the ASFB:
  • Curates and publishes the official show and presentation schedule
  • Operates the official accreditation and audience governance structure
  • Coordinates industry hospitality and international delegation planning
  • Facilitates venue coordination in dialogue with city and property stakeholders
  • Maintains shared infrastructure that serves brands, industry, and institutions across seasons
This means the official programme is designed to balance interests and values across brands, markets, and sectors, rather than serve a single commercial stakeholder.

How applications are treated

  • Applications to the official Core Schedule are reviewed for inclusion in the ASFB-curated programme, which defines the official show and presentation schedule, accreditation structure, industry hospitality, and programme planning during Stockholm Fashion Week.
  • Event and showroom listings are reviewed separately and may be published as curated listings, but do not form part of the official Core Schedule.
  • This distinction preserves the authority and elevation of brands presenting within the Core Schedule, while still enabling a broader city-wide context.

The core schedule

The Official Core Schedule consists of runway shows and presentations curated and actively supported by the ASFB as part of Stockholm Fashion Week.

The core schedule:

  • Defines the official show and presentation schedule published by the ASFB
  • Forms the basis for accreditation, industry hospitality, and delegation planning
  • Determines inclusion in the official programme infrastructure and communications
  • Is distinct from independently organised off-schedule activity taking place across the city

Inclusion in the Official Core Schedule places a brand within the ASFB-curated programme and determines participation in the official schedule, accreditation structure, industry hospitality, and programme communications during Stockholm Fashion Week.

FRONT

STHLMFW FRONT is intended for emerging and scaling brands, regardless of founder age or experience, that are not producing independent shows. All FRONT presentations take place within the official programme framework curated by the ASFB.

Capacity
  • Up to two slots per day depending on capacity.
Format
  • Shared show venue
  • Shared production setup
  • Fixed slot each day

Placement within STHLMFW FRONT is determined as part of the selection process. The ASFB selects brands for FRONT with the intention of platforming diverse voices and flavors of Swedish fashion.

Selection principles

Applications to the Official Core Schedule are reviewed holistically. Considerations typically include:

  • Programme fit (Core Schedule or FRONT)
  • Collection scope and readiness
  • Brand maturity and operational feasibility
  • Market strategy and buyer relevance
  • Scheduling and logistical viability

Due to limited capacity, not all applications can be accommodated.

Participation package

The participation package reflects the ASFB’s role as a coordinating industry platform and is designed to support visibility, access, and programme coherence.

Selected brands in the Official Core Schedule are included in the following framework:

STHLMFW Hospitality Delegation guests

  • Inclusion in the official programme used to structure buyer and press hospitality
  • Delegation outreach informed by aggregated input from ASFB member brands

Venue support

  • Support in identifying and coordinating suitable venues
  • Introductions facilitated through city and property stakeholder relationships
(Subject to availability and programme logistics.)

Video and photography

  • Archival-quality runway documentation captured as part of the official programme
    (Scope and delivery confirmed post-selection.)

Image Bank distribution

  • Distribution of approved show imagery via the official Image Bank, powered by VOCAST
  • Structured access for international press and industry stakeholders
  • Centralised image availability under agreed usage terms

Scheduling and venue planning

Brands submit primary, secondary, and tertiary preferences for days and time windows.

Final scheduling is determined by the ASFB, balancing:

  • Overall programme structure
  • Venue availability
  • Delegation and hospitality logistics
  • Operational feasibility across the week

Schedule preferences inform planning but are not guaranteed.

Guests, accreditation, and the Layered Audience

Accreditation

  • All runway access is managed through the official STHLMFW accreditation system
  • Guests apply to attend specific shows
  • Brands review requests and retain control over approvals within the programme framework

The Layered Audience framework structures runway audiences into two layers:

  • Seated guests
STHLMFW Hospitality Delegation, STHLMFW team, and the brand’s primary guests
  • Standing guests
Allocated standing capacity behind seated areas for additional guests

The Layered Audience framework allows brands to retain control over guest approvals while supporting balanced access in line with city governance requirements.

Membership and participation terms

Participation terms vary depending on:
  • ASFB member brand status
  • Non-member brand participation
  • International brand participation

Turnover segment information is used to determine the applicable framework where relevant. Full details are available via the ASFB membership overview.
